Clan Macfarlane Heritage Centre – Tarbet

The Clan Macfarlane Heritage Centre formally located in Tarbet by Loch Lomond, in the heart of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, within the historic territory of the Clan Macfarlane. The Heritage Centre included a Museum of Highland Life, a craft shop and Tartan Centre, it was situated in the former Ballyhennan Church built in the early 1800’s. The adjoining churchyard Ballyhennan Burial Ground contains graves of ancient clan leaders.

The building is now operating as a wonderful restaurant and venue known as  Slanj Loch Lomond.

The interior of the restaurant still retains the Clan Macfarlane Heritage with its green hunting tartan carpet and modern red curtains as its decor. The building and location is a significant part of Macfarlane heritage and the owners continue to promote and preserve this in the local area.
